New Book Out Soon!

Heart on a Chain is due out very soon! I am just waiting on my proof right now. Stay tuned for the official release date! Above is the cover and here is the blurb:
17-year-old Kate has lived her whole life in abject poverty, with an alcoholic father and drug-addicted mother, who severely abuses Kate. At school, her second-hand clothing marks her as a target. Her refusal to stand up for herself makes her the recipient of her classmates taunts and bullying. That is, until Henry returns.
Henry Jamison moved away six years earlier, just as he and Kate had begun an to develop feelings for one another. He returns to find the bright, funny, outgoing girl he had known now timidly hiding in corners, barely speaking to anyone around her, suspicious of even him.
Kate can’t figure out what game Henry is playing with her - for surely it is a game. What else would the gorgeous, popular boy from her past want with her?
Kate finally decides to trust Henry’s intentions, opening her heart to him. Just when it seems he might be genuine in his friendship, tragedy strikes, threatening everything Kate has worked so hard to gain. Can Henry help her to overcome this new devastation, or will it tear them apart forever?

Operation Iraqi School Supplies

My son is currently serving in the US Air Force in Kirkuk, Iraq. He is spearheading a charity called "Operation School Supplies" for the Iraqi children. They are living in extreme poverty in their war-torn country, so the miltary is joining forces to help them out. They do not have the ability to purchase basic supplies where they are, so he's asking for school supplies to be sent (do not send money as they have no way of purchasing the supplies).

Items they need:
Pencils, crayons, pens, notebooks, erasers, colored pencils, markers, safety scissors, glue, folders, rulers, backpacks

So if you'd like to help, you can do one of two things. You can either donate money and I will purchase and mail the supplies myself, or you can ourchase some items and ship them. It costs the same to mail to him as it does to any US postal address so don't worry it's going to cost you a bunch to send something. As a matter of fact, if you use one of the USPS Flat Rate boxes, it's actually a little cheaper to send to him. His address is:

Randy J Bennett
321 EOSS
Unit #70077
APO, AE 09359

If you want to donate, use the following button to pay through PayPal (a PayPal account is not needed).

I will be accepting donations until 12/20/10 and will then purchase and send the supplies. Once Randy receives the supplies he will join with the Chaplain in organizing everything, then the Army will deliver the supplies.

At this time of year when we are are feeling blessed and grateful for all we have, it's a good time to be reminded of how far a little charity can go. These kids aren't hoping for a Nintendo or iPod for Christmas, they just want crayons and notebooks. If you only send a package of pencils, or donate $1 it can make a huge difference. Thanks for your generosity!!! Happy holidays.
